A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Cast List for 10 players)

A Midsummer Night’s Dream lends itself to play-reading. The three different casts (the court; the rude mechanicals; the fairies) allows a good distribution of parts across the readers. However, for playing scenes, there aren’t many scenes which are dialogues for 2 players. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is an early play, and in his early plays Shakespeare seems to have mostly written scenes for large number of characters.

Players-Shakespeare.com’s MFFEV5 edition provides castings for 6 to 12 playreaders.  This casting is for 10 players. The roles for each player are shown below with links to a highlight text script. If you want to read your script in Parts and Cues format, change the script format in the setup windows (accessed via the gearwheel in the top rigght-hand corner of the script window.

If you’re reading the play with 10 players, the casting will allow everyone to play a principal role.

The roles for the 10 playreaders are as follows:

Player1: Oberon, Wall, Snout

Player2: Helena, Moon, Starveling

Player3: Theseus, Cobweb, 2nd_fairy

Player4: Puck, Lion, Snug

Player6: Titania, Egeus
