Let’s Play: Bottom and the Fairies (5 players)

Play Index & Help

Let’s play part of  A4S1 of A Midsummer Night’s Dream where Bottom is looked after by fairies. Titania, the Queen of the Fairies, is in love with Bottom, because of a potion her husband has applied to her eyes. The scene requires 5 players, and links to their scripts are given below:

Player 1 – Titania
Player 2 – Bottom
Player 3- Peaseblossom
Player 4 – Cobweb
Player 5 – Mustardseed

All the scripts above are in Highlit Text format.  When everyone has selected their role, let the reading commence. Only read the scene until the entry of Oberon and Puck.

When you’ve read the extract, there’s a number of things you can do:

Read the extract again and again, re-allocating roles,  until the speeches sound ‘just right’
