Let’s Play: The deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt (4 players)

Play Index & Help

Let’s play A3S1 of Romeo and Juliet in which the Capulet’s and Montagues fight, and Mercutio and Tybalt are slain. This is very different from the romantic love affair between Romeo and Juliet, and shows testosterone-fuelled agression between young men.

This extract is set up for 4 players. All parts are in highlight text format. The casting for 6 of Romeo and Juliet has been used, with players in order of appearance in the scene. Each player should click on one of the following Players, and a script will appear with their lines highlit. Note that you can also use the links in the list to the right.

Play the scene from the start until the Bonvolio’s line to Romeo: ‘Why does thou stay?’ and Romeo’s exit.
